place AoC on this scale based on how good it is:
superbad<[------------middle good------------]>supergood

Supergood.
It'd be fucking awesome if it wasn't for my lag spikes.

Re: rate it yo
At its current state I'd give it a 8.5. The reason for this is the UI, the need for a new computer to run it well, and the bugs.
I'm sure all of these will be sorted out eventually, and then it will deserve a 10, but those are the only problems I have with the game at the moment.

If you turn off the shadows, it is like playing a completely different game- framerate wise, im pretty sure there is a bug with the shadows that causes massive lag
Re: rate it yo
my brother bought it. so i tried it. not impressed so far. will keep playing to see if it gets better with leveling. it might not be worth it to buy and break my computer because the game is god awful for being a giant resource hog. and i had to kill a panther.. thats not cool.
Re: rate it yo
i have to admit, day one i was a pretty big fan. i was groupin with zdemonr and hoodz and we were just tearing tortage apart. but then i started soloin it and stopped having as much fun. then they leveled like 302198 levels higher than me and now i have no one to play with and i'm bored more than i probably should be. i call this game 'good'

Re: rate it yo
I would give it super good so far.
The implications of the combat system being full collision is 3rd generation compared with all other MMO’s out (they weren’t full of it). Not having a “good” or “evil” side really opens the game up for politics to develop. The performance isn’t an issue for people with the sufficient hardware. The quest dialog looks like a blend of Neverwinter Nights and wow mixed up into one (Great touch). I have never seen a game with such newbie content, the city of tortage is unreal for noob content (A+). Funcom really impressed me with the launch of the game. Very smooth launch for an MMO.
I do agree it has high hardware requirements, however it looks really nice if you have those requirements and plays very smooth (Even in big cities).

Re: rate it yo
Right now I'd rate it as good. I just got out of Tortage with both my Assassin and PoM. I'm finding the jump in difficulty a little daunting but I'm getting a better hang out of it. This is due to the fact that many of the quests require that I kill monsters that are packed up in groups, which is difficult when they're already higher level than me. I enjoy the different classes and the combat system, although with my PoM I'm totally missing out on it which sometimes makes PoM a little boring because it feels like I'm just mashing smite all the time.
The PVP is a little frustrating at first because it's FFA, so it's very chaotic. I won't have a clear conclusion about PVP until I get more into the organized stuff, the outdoor stuff I find a little boring because it's usually someone jumping me when I'm at a significant disadvantage, ie. mobs on me or I'm at very low health. Seeing as how I don't gank/pk others very often, I guess I'm a true PVE player at heart but I respect the challenge of playing on a PVP realm.
I think once they refine the UI and work out the kinks the game will improve significantly. What they have now works it can be improved in many ways however, and for many players who came from other MMO's, the ui, chat, matching and trading system in AoC leaves much to be desired.
Game could use some optimization because it does take a while to load up the game and waiting to log off to switch characters can be rather annoying. Not big deals but areas that could be improved upon.

Basically the core game is so good that anything they do like you said nar, to improve any of those features is going to only make it better.
